FAQ

Straight answers on pricing, timelines, scope, ownership, and what it is like to work together. Still deciding? email us.

01Pricing

How much does a project actually cost?

Short answer: depends, on purpose.

Every project we take on is custom — so every quote is custom. We don't publish a price list because a price list assumes we'd build your brand the same way we built someone else's, and we wouldn't. A luxury omakase site is not a dental practice rebrand is not an AI product launch is not a restaurant ordering system.

Here's what we can tell you: we're not the cheapest studio you'll find in a Google search, and we're probably not the most expensive either. We scope to the outcome you need. Sometimes that means trimming the brief to fit a smaller budget; sometimes it means expanding it because the one you sent was too small for the problem you're solving. Either way, you see the real number in the proposal — not before — and you never get ambushed by an invoice.

The honest version: email us with a rough number. We'll tell you fast if we're in the same neighbourhood.

02Timing

How long does a project take?

Anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on what you're asking for. A focused brand refresh finishes faster than a full brand + web + product build. A marketing site moves faster than a multi-language platform with authentication, payments, and a dashboard.

Here's what doesn't change: we tell you the real number in the proposal — not an optimistic one — and we tell you the moment we're at risk of missing it, not the day of the deadline. Surprises are for birthdays, not projects.

03Trust

You're a brand-new studio. Why should I trust you with a six-figure project?

Honest answer: because the work under Meridii isn't new, even if the studio name is. Click any case study on /work. Play the interactions. Read the detail. The studio is the wrapper we put around work that was already happening — this isn't a portfolio built in a weekend to attract the first client.

If, after reading the cases, you still think we're too new — that's a fair call. Hire a bigger agency. We won't take it personally, and we'd rather that than have you second-guess us through the entire project.

04Fit

I'm a small startup. Am I too small for you?

Probably not. We scope each project to the problem, not the other way around — sometimes that means a tight brand-only engagement, sometimes a focused marketing site, sometimes the full brand + web + product build.

If you're an early-stage team and the project is genuinely interesting, email us anyway. We've scoped down before. We've pointed people at freelancers we trust when we weren't the right fit. There's no gatekeeper at the door — just tell us what you're working on.

05Fit

I'm a big enterprise. Are you too small for me?

Sometimes. We take on work selectively, which means we're not the team for a multi-year engagement with eight designers on standby. We're the team for a focused, high-intent project where you want the people pitching the work to actually do the work.

If you're a big org and that's what you're after, let's talk. If you need a studio that can spin up ten parallel workstreams tomorrow, we'll save you the trouble and point you at someone who can.

06Process

How many rounds of revisions do I get?

As many as it takes. We don't count rounds — we count whether the work is done. If we've gone deep and we're still not converging, that's our signal that the brief wasn't clear at the start, and the right move is to pause, re-align, and figure out what we got wrong. We don't invoice our own mistakes.

What we do push back on: revisions driven by committee, by "can we see it in blue," or by a new stakeholder who wasn't in the first three meetings showing up at review five. If you want us to fight for the work, you have to be the person who gets to say yes.

07Process

Scope keeps changing. Do you charge extra for scope creep?

Yes, and we tell you before we do it. If you ask for something new mid-project that's outside the original brief, we send a short change-order note: new scope, added time, added cost, a yes / no / defer-to-phase-2 checkbox. You pick. We don't ambush you with a surprise invoice at launch.

The original scope stays on the original price — every time.

08Ownership

Who owns the files and the IP?

You. Full stop. On final payment, everything transfers to you: source files, repositories, fonts licensed in your name, design assets, the lot. We keep a copy for our portfolio and the right to show the work as a case study — unless you need us to sign an NDA, in which case the case study stays private.

No part of your brand lives on our servers permanently. You can walk away with everything, any time after launch, and we won't make it hard.

09Process

Is there ongoing support after launch?

Yes, for a window. Bugs introduced during the build get fixed at no charge — no ticket system, no portal, same email — for a reasonable period after launch while you and the new site settle in together. We don't dodge our own mistakes.

Beyond that, we offer a light retainer for ongoing work: small design changes, copy updates, performance maintenance, that kind of thing. It's optional, not required. Most clients use it for a while post-launch, then move it in-house or stop needing it.

10Trust

Who actually does the work? Will I get a junior designer?

No. The people you meet on the first call are the people who do the work. Meridii doesn't have a "junior desk" and we don't pass the design down to someone less senior once the contract is signed. When we grow, we'll grow in a way that keeps this true — and every case study will name the team that worked on it.

This is also why we can only take on so much at once. It's the cost of doing it this way, and we consider it a feature.

11Process

What tools do you use? Can I collaborate on the design?

Industry-standard design tools, a modern React-based development stack, and full visibility into progress from day one. Hosting goes wherever makes sense for your business.

Yes — you see the design as it evolves, not after it's "ready." The whole point is to catch the wrong turns early, together.

12Process

What if I want to cancel mid-project?

You can. With written notice, you pay for work completed up to the cancellation date and nothing more. We send you everything done so far — source files, notes, even the half-finished thinking — and we don't hold work hostage.

The one thing we ask: tell us why, honestly. We'd rather hear "this isn't working" early than finish a project neither of us believes in.

13Trust

Do you guarantee results? Conversions, rankings, that kind of thing?

No, and we'd distrust anyone in our category who did. We guarantee the work: it's accessible, it's fast, it's considered, it ships on time, it matches the brief. What your customers do with it depends on the rest of your business — your product, your market, your pricing, your distribution.

What we can say honestly: every site we ship is built to the performance and accessibility standards that rankings and conversions actually need to happen. The rest is on the product.
