Altruistic Accounting
Altruistic Accounting color palette

Tax websites have a habit of looking like government forms. We did not want that. Newsprint #F9F9F7 and Parchment #E5E5E0 keep things warm, Ink #111111 and Midnight Navy #0A1B44 keep them serious, and Ledger Blue #007BFF shows people where to click next.

Taxes make people nervous. Fair enough. The forms are confusing, the language is stiff, and a CRA letter can ruin a perfectly good afternoon. Altruistic needed a website that made the first step obvious, so we used plain language, built a real tax calculator, showed people what to bring, and made it easy to ask for help in English or French. Less 'please review subsection 4B.' More 'here is what to do next.'

Go see how Altruistic Accounting feels in motion. It’s better in person.

Most people just want the number

Before someone reads about the firm, they are usually wondering one thing: am I getting money back? So we put a real Canadian tax calculator on the homepage. It uses Federal and Ontario brackets, includes RRSP and FHSA deductions, and estimates whether someone might get a refund or owe money. No email wall. Put the numbers in, get an estimate. Very normal. Surprisingly rare.
A real estimate before asking for anyone's email. We think that is fair.

We took the government out of the website

Altruistic still needed to look serious. It just did not need to sound like the CRA wrote it. We used plain language, short explanations, and a clear structure. Someone filing for the first time can understand it, while someone with a complicated situation can still see that the firm knows what it is doing.

Different tax messes need different questions

A student, landlord, retiree, newcomer, and small-business owner are not showing up with the same problem. The contact flow adapts to the situation, accepts documents, and lets people choose how they want to hear back. Altruistic gets useful information before the first conversation, and the client does not have to explain everything twice.
Phone, email, office, or form. Pick the least annoying option.

The questions change with the contact method. No need to fill in things nobody needs.

No mystery after submitting

Sending a form into the internet and hoping somebody replies is not great, especially when taxes are involved. We explain what Altruistic handles, which documents to bring, when the team follows up, and what happens during the first conversation. People know what they are getting into before they press send.
What to bring, what happens next, and when an actual person gets involved.

Actually bilingual

Ottawa is bilingual, so we built the whole website in English and French. Not just the homepage. Not just the menu labels. The content, metadata, structured data, and important interface messages all work in both languages. The site also remembers the language someone chose, because asking twice would be silly.

Pick the situation that sounds like yours

Students, seniors, newcomers, landlords, and investors all have different questions. Instead of giving everyone one enormous accounting page, we built five clear paths with the relevant benefits, credits, and tax details. People find their situation quickly, and Altruistic gets a better idea of what they need.
Five different tax situations without five different websites.
The same choices on mobile, because CRA letters do not wait for a laptop.
Tax help should feel like another formlike someone is helping.
